What Is Tarot Reading and How Does It Actually Work?
If you've ever wondered what really happens during a tarot reading, you're not alone. It's one of the most common questions I get from first-time clients — and it deserves a straight answer. Tarot is a deck of 78 cards, each carrying its own symbolism, imagery, and meaning. A reading isn't about predicting an unchangeable future. It's a tool for reflection — a way to look at your current situation, the energies surrounding it, and the paths available to you.
Astrology, through the analysis of planetary transits and their alignment with personal birth charts, offers a unique perspective on potential future events and opportunities. By understanding these cosmic patterns, individuals can gain foresight into forthcoming challenges and chances, enabling them to make informed decisions and align their actions with the natural flow of the universe.

How a session works
When you come to me with a question — about love, career, family, or a decision you're facing — I shuffle the deck while holding that question in focus. The cards you draw aren't random in the way people assume. They form a pattern that reflects what's already present in your life, even if you haven't fully named it yet. Each card has an upright and reversed meaning, and its position in the spread (past, present, future, obstacles, outcome) adds another layer. A skilled reader doesn't just recite card meanings — they weave the cards together into a coherent story that speaks to your actual circumstances.
What tarot is not
Tarot doesn’t erase free will. It doesn’t hand you a fixed destiny you can’t escape. Think of it more like a weather forecast — it shows you the conditions and trends, but you still choose how to dress and where to walk.
I also don’t use tarot to create fear or dependency. A good reading should leave you with clarity, not confusion — and never with more anxiety than you came in with.
Who tarot is for
You don’t need to “believe” in magic to benefit from a session. Many of my clients come from a place of practical curiosity — they’re stuck on a decision, going through a transition, or simply want an outside perspective that isn’t clouded by personal bias, unlike advice from friends or family.
If you’re new to tarot, the best way to understand it is simply to experience one honest, well-explained session. Come with an open question, and let the cards do what they do best — reflect what’s already stirring beneath the surface.
